Happy Halloween

I love Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays. I like it because it is secular, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to enjoy it, the candy is great,and people are outside on the street at night.

I have always liked it. When I was six, my brother’s bar mitzvah was on Halloween. I thought this was sacrilegious and pleaded with my mother to change his event so I could go trick or treating. Of course, she ignored me.

One of my favorite movie scenes is the Halloween one in E.T. It really captures what the night is like in a suburban neighborhood.In the past  we have had 100 people come to our door. Since today is a Sunday we might get a lot of  people.

Two weeks ago we went to Keene to the Pumpkin festival. There were so many pumpkins and at the end, there were fireworks. It is a nice festival. Here  is a  picture.

This is a picture of part of the decorations I did two years ago. I love to decorate for Halloween.  I put tape player behind the bushes and play scary music. Sometimes the very little ones get a little scared. If they do, I show them the tape. I think Halloween should be fun and not terrifying.
